🐾 Paws & Power Tools: Gazebo Build Day! 🛠️🐶

The cement pad is down, and now it’s time to raise the roof—literally! Join us for an action-packed day as we bring this year’s Shark Tank project to life by building a beautiful new gazebo at the Humane Society. Not only will you get to flex your DIY muscles, but you’ll also be helping our furry friends stay cool and comfy in the shade!

When: Meet us at 9:00 AM — we’ll wrap up around 3:00 PM
Why: Because puppies + power tools = the best kind of Saturday!

Whether you're a seasoned builder or just handy with a hammer, please join us. Come for the construction, stay for the puppy cuddles and good vibes. Let’s build something pawsome together!

Join us for a club meeting featuring everything about the Rotary Foundation!

We will hear more about the foundation, ways to give, projects like Shark Tank, and how to get involved.

Looking to spread some holiday cheer? Come volunteer at the Smore Pit @ Rotary Lights! It's a simple, fun job - handing out smore kits to families and keeping the firepits glowing so everyone can enjoy a warm treat under the lights.

We've split the evening into two shifts so you can choose what works best for you: 

Shift 1: 5:15 - 7:15 PM  -- Meet at the volunteer trailer at 5:15  to grab the supplies and instructions.

Shift 2: 7:15 - 9:00 PM -- Head straight to the Smore Pit to relieve the first crew and keep the fun going. 

Want to double the marshmallow magic? You're welcome to sign up for both shifts if you don't want the fun to end after just two hours!  

This is a great chance to enjoy the holiday atmosphere, be a part of one of La Crosse's most beloved holiday community events and help melt marshmallows!!

Ring-a-ling-a-ling, it's time to get together, spread some joy and Christmas cheer!! Our club's Bell Ringing is set, and we hope you can join in this cheerful holiday service event.

We know this time of year can be a whirlwind of activity and events, so we've set up two different opportunities, to hopefully make it easier for everyone to take part. Whether you can make it to one or both, your presence will brighten the season for our community!

Bring you holiday spirit and make those bells sing!! 

Help us make Christmas special by giving toys to local children for the annual Toys for Tots Giveaway Day in partnership with JCI.

Help is needed from 9 am to 2 pm. After the event, there is an optional party for volunteers!

Location: La Crosse Footwear Building- enter thru the Boot Hill Pub entrance on St. Andrew Street and there will be signs and people leading the way to JCI's space on the second floor.

Rotary After Hours Launches February Random Act of Kindness Challenge

Encouraging Rotarians and the Community to Spread Kindness, One Act at a Time

Rotary After Hours (RAH) is inviting all area Rotary Clubs and neighbors near and far to take part in a Random Act of Kindness Challenge throughout February 2026, spreading kindness and strengthening our community one act at a time.

The challenge is easy: do something kind for someone else. Big or small, planned or spontaneous, every act counts. Whether it’s paying for someone’s coffee, shoveling a neighbor’s sidewalk, writing a thank-you note, or checking in on someone who could use a smile, these moments of kindness have a ripple effect far beyond the initial gesture.

“This challenge is a reminder that kindness costs very little, but means everything,” one RAH member said.

Looking for inspiration? Explore ideas from the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation, including this list of 50 simple kindness ideas. 

Kindness makers are encouraged to post about their acts of kindness on social media using hashtags like #RandomActsOfKindness and #RotaryAfterHours along with the Be Kind logo to help spread the movement even further.

Let’s make February a month of compassion, connection, and positivity, and let’s make kindness go viral!

It's time for Monday Meals! Join us to help package up the weekly Monday Meals for members of our community.

We’ve got a special sneak‑peek opportunity, and you’re invited! 🎉 Before the newly renovated library officially opens, we get to explore the fresh space and help bring it to life.

We’ll kick things off at the Franciscan Spirituality Center on Market Street, where we’ll grab boxes of items to bring over. Then it’s off to the library to unpack, sort, and organize everything in the shiny new space.

If you’re curious to see the renovation up close, love the thrill of organizing, or just want to be part of something fun and behind‑the‑scenes, come join us! It’s going to be a great time!

What’s better than jumping into the freezing Black River to support the Special Olympics? Volunteering at the Special Olympics Polar Plunge and cheering on the brave souls who do jump in!

Volunteers will be assigned wherever help is needed. Roles may include working concessions, checking wristbands, assisting with safety, and helping manage the flow of participants near the plunge area. We won’t be plunging ourselves, but many roles are outdoors—so bundle up.

Special Olympics is a fantastic organization that provides a wide range of activities and sporting opportunities for community members with intellectual disabilities. Let’s show our support for this incredible organization and the individuals in our community who benefit from the programs they offer.

The snow is melting and hopefully the temps will continue to climb. Therefore, it's time for our first Highway Clean Up for 2026!

So put on your walking shoes and join us on Tuesday, March 31st, to help keep our stretch of the road clean and beautiful!

We will meet in the church parking lot across the street from Fox Hollow Banquet Hall.

It's time to finish up this year's Shark Tank project with a bench build at the Coulee Region Humane Society. This will put the finishing touches on the dog play area, providing shade and a place to relax for the dogs and volunteers. It is estimated that it will take about an hour to build the benches and hang our Rotary sign on the gazebo that our group built last fall. 

In addition to building the benches, we have the opportunity to take some of the dogs from the shelter out for a doggy day out! If you are interested in checking out a dog for some play time, please use this link and complete the Humane Society's Request Form.

Remember that awesome Shark Tank project where we helped build a greenhouse for Northside Elementary/Coulee Montessori? Well… it’s thriving, the kids have been using it as their outdoor classroom, and now they’re hosting a plant sale to keep the growing going!

And they could use our help to make the event bloom.

Volunteer Opportunities:

• 8–9 AM: Kick off the morning by helping set up the plant displays

• 9 AM–12 PM: Keep the good vibes going while helping run the sale

• 12–1:30 PM: Wrap up the day with clean-up and pack-up

If you can’t stay the whole time, set-up and clean-up are where extra hands matter most.

This is a perfect chance to revisit the greenhouse we helped bring to life, see how much it’s grown, and support the students who use it every day. Plus—plants, sunshine, and community energy make for a pretty great Saturday.

Join us for an off-site meeting and tour of the Lock & Dam #7 in La Crescent.

Registration will starta at 5:15 pm and the tour will be 5:30-6:30 pm.

There will be NO meeting fee and NO food/drink provided. Members are encouraged to visit a La Crescent establishment after the tour as a social gathering.
